Warm up Passing drill
Each player should be about 10 m apart.
Midfielder moves to the right or left creating a passing lane. Defender plays the ball to the forward ,the midfielder makes a looping run to receive the ball off the forward and immediately plays it back to him 1 touch.
Midfielder again opens up the passing lane , the forward passes the ball to the defender who plays a quick one – two with the midfielder and the whole process gets repeated. As the players find a rhythm try and get them to do the drill one touch.
RONDOS
6 players ( 2 red , 2 yellow , 2 blue).
10 x 10 m Square
Blues begin in the middle , trying to win the ball as soon as possible. Both players in the middle must pay attention to how each other presses. The first player to press the ball tries to make play predictable while the other player gives support and tries to cut off the passing lanes and looks to anticipate the next pass.
The players on the outside try to keep the ball , looking to receive the ball with the foot furthest away and having correct open bodyshape.
If a red player loses the ball then both reds go in to the middle. Same for the yellows.
Pressing with 3 players
A 20 x 10 area is marked out.
3 players in the middle should work and move together as a unit and look to win the ball as soon as possible by pressing aggressively. The player nearest to the ball should put immediate pressure and try and make play predictable. The other 2 defenders give support and cut of the passing lanes.
The players on the outside should look to pass the ball opposite to the press and look to receive the ball with the foot furthest away applying the correct open body shape.
10 v 7 “ Pressing / How to move the ball game.”
Mark out a 50 x 30 m area.
7 Yellows , 7 Blues , 3 Reds (who play with the team in possession)
The Yellows try and hold the ball by playing through the lines and back ( defence-midfield-forward-midfield-defence).
The Blues try and win the ball and dribble it over the Yellows end line.
I find it very interesting warming, will do it in France today, warmed Normally this way but this exercise I found very interesting.
